Trees are ALIVE. What they breathe OUT human beings breathe IN. Which means one-half of the human lung is out there, in the form of trees. Knowing this, we simply cannot keep cutting trees. It is like committing suicide in installments, especially with the alarming levels of SPM and CFCs in our atmosphere. TREES CLEAN the air and indirectly, our body and mind. If India is still a "developing" country, one of the reasons is that we do not value what we have. And trees, especially in the city, are of immense value.

From time immemorial, Trees have played a significant role in our tradition & culture and are considered Sacred. A number of trees have medicinal and cultural significance and are a part and parcel of various festivals and customs. While this connect seems to be less prominent in the cities, it still continues to be practiced in full strength in rural settings. Besides this, Trees are also associated with deities, birth stars or nakshatras of each and every person.
