The excavations at Purana Qila have yielded structures requiring the use of mud bricks as well as baked bricks. Fragments of a beautifully sculptured ring-stone, terracotta human and animal figurines, toys, inscribed terracotta seals, beautifully designed ceramic ware, small rings and discs of banded agate, and a clay seal bearing such motifs as an arched hill, tree and a hollow cross all these indicate many feautres of city life of the sixth-fifth to the third-second centuries B.C.
