It was founded in 1929 with a few birds as its sole patients by Late Shri Laccho Mal Gotewale at his home only. In 1968, it adopted allopathic system of treatment and appointed Dr. M.S.Bawa as the chief surgeon & physician, under whose charge, the hospital achieved as astounding success in curing the ailing birds.


Birds who gets injured by kite’s thread, by katty stones, wings hurt while flying from building / rods etc. are brought in the Hospital generally. Because of weather “ summer, winter, rainy” conditions brought the birds to the hospital. For the treatement of pet birds & animals, this O.P.D. treatment is also quite famous. Hospital never charges for consultation / treatement as well as for medicines. Surgical treatment is given with latest surgical equipments and medicines. This hospital is managed only from donation and by no other means. This year O.P.D. section provided treatment to 5065 birds. The hospital has the capacity to accommodate about 3000 birds and admits on an average 40 birds daily.

    such a wonderful place to visit and no one knows abt it,!!!!!!...... I would like school children to come and see the great work that you all are doing. a website could also help in spreading d word......
