Atleast something free - very well thought of Jan 16,2014
its a huge break when nowdays in all malls everything is charged.. this free space for kids to play is a great concept indeed. Its not a waste or over expenditure but a very innovative and nice concept - its adds so much fun to shopping experience or just having an outing with family. really congratulate the mall owners for it- keep it up improve and never put charge on it.
It is open area - so probably not enjoyable in winter nights when kids are loaded with outerwear. But apart from that it is perfect for building coordination between limbs and exercising pretty much all the major muscle groups of the little ones. Reminded me of the video clips of commando training:)
My kid enjoyed the non-traditional means of climbing up and down the platforms. Nice use of steel-reinforced ropes, wood planks, steel chains etc to create ropeways and tunnels. Use of soft floor tiles is also much appreciated.
Few suggestions for improvement:
(1) make it an area where children can be left unsupervised (like the small but convenient play area in GIP Mall - 4th floor) - enclose it, and have free or fee-based stickers/tokens. That will free up parents to do some shopping or have some down time away from constant oversight.
(2) Have more seating for parents around the area if (1) is not feasible.
(3) Install an overhead covering for winter nights...
