We help unearth the best your city has to offer kids in and around your neighbourhood - from kids events to fun family outings, discounts and offers, to a comprehensive listings of products and services for your children. mycity4kids is the fun and easy way to find, share, review and talk about what's great - and not so great - for your kids in the city.

Is Mycity4kids free ?

Yes! Other than sponsored listings and advertising, you can use the site for free.

What should I be reviewing on Mycity4kids ?

Mycity4kids is meant for just about anything related to kids below the age of 14. Our biggest categories today are play-schools, schools, enhanced learning, hobby and sports classes, but you can also use mycity4kids to find reviews of everything, from paediatricians and tutors to events and entertainment options for your kids.

Who can see me and my reviews ?

Visitors to mycity4kids can see your first name and last initial (eg. Meghna R), and can read your reviews. Only registered mycity4kids users may share your reviews on facebook.

Can business owners reach out to me after I review their business ?

Business owners can get in touch with you directly after you review their business only through your mycity4kids account. You can choose to ignore or engage in the conversation.

Can business owners publicly comment on my reviews ?

Business owners can comment on your review only if they are registered users.

I'm a business owner and some reviews disappeared from my business' page. What happened?

Reviews may not be featured on your business page for a few different reasons: A user may have removed his or her review. mycity4kids may have removed the review for violating our Review Guidelines or Terms of Service.

What is the overall star rating of my business and how do you arrive at it ?

The overall star rating is only based on the parent's rating of his or her experience with your business. Only registered users can leave a rating.

Will Mycity4kids remove bad reviews if a business pays for sponsorship? Does Mycity4kids allow sponsors to move bad reviews to the bottom of their page ?

Absolutely not. Reviews of mycity4kids sponsors and non-sponsors are treated identically, and operate under the same Review Guidelines and Terms of Service.

What is the source of business attribute information such as entry age, individual or group coaching, transportation, etc ?

Mycity4kids has an entire team devoted to collecting this information from local businesses over phone and/or e-mail. The team is also responsible for updating all the information once every 3 month. Registered business users can edit or update the information on an ongoing basis.

How is the review ordering for a business determined ?

mycity4kids Sort shows reviews that help consumers make informed decisions. The order is determined by recency. This method is applied to all businesses, sponsors or not. When viewing a business, you can also sort the reviews a few ways - including by recency of review and popularity of business listing.

How is the ranking of search results determined ?

Mycity4kids's search results are based on an algorithm that is designed to provide the best results based on a number of different factors including but not limited to location proximity, the number or reviews and the star rating of a business and the text of the reviews themselves. We are constantly working on improving our search results so that we can deliver the most relevant local results to our users.

How do I verify my Mycity4kids account ?

When you've completed the registration process, you will receive an email with a special link. Click it to verify your account. When the verification message arrives in your email in-box, click the verification link, or copy and paste it into your browser. Your account will be verified at this point. If it doesn't work please let us know (support@mycity4kids.com).

How do I change my basic account information ?

To edit your profile or to change your account preferences, log in and click on the "Profile" link that appears at the top of any page. You will be able to edit your account preferences here.

How do I change my email address ?

Your email addresses and password are found under "Account Settings" which appears in the upper right section of any page. Click that link and you will be taken to your Account Settings page, where you may edit any of your current settings.

Who can see my name ?

Only your name will appear on the site. For more information about our use of your personal information, please see our privacy policy.

Can I use Mycity4kids under multiple accounts ?

No. It's not ok for you to write multiple reviews from multiple accounts about the same business, so we delete multiple accounts when we see them.

How do I make sure my reviews show up in Facebook ?

What makes for a great review ?

mycity4kids is a site for parents, by parents. As a parent, any information that you believe would be useful to another parent looking to make an informed decision would make for a great review. The best reviews are personal, based on your experience and tend to offer helpful suggestions, perhaps even an insider tip or two. The most useful reviews sometimes make mention of unique qualities that make the business special or a let-down.

What should I review ?

Any local business (product or service) or event is fair game for being reviewed on mycity4kids. Think: playschools, fun places to go, hobby classes, etc.

Can I review a business I'm connected to ?

You should certainly not review your own business and ideally, not even a business at which you have been or are currently employed.

What if I had a bad experience ? Can I say something negative ?

Sure. We want to hear about your good experiences and your bad ones. Be sure to include all the relevant facts and details. But whether it's a positive review or a negative one, please keep in mind that your opinions are generally protected but posting false information can have legal ramifications.

Does Mycity4kids ever remove reviews ?

Rarely. But in some cases a member of the mycity4kids team will remove a review (and will typically email the writer to let them know) if it doesn't follow these guidelines: Vested interest : Your reviews should be unbiased and objective. If there's any hint of a conflict, please don't post the review. For example, owners shouldn't sing the praises of their own businesses or bash their competitors, and users shouldn't comment on their current or former employers. Offensive language : We understand that you may be really pissed off but need you to maintain a certain decorum which includes no personal abuse or offensive language. Relevance : Reviews are not the place to voice one's ideological differences or the like about the business or something unrelated to your customer experience - it is about sharing your personal experience as a customer and in particular, anything that made it particularly special or otherwise.

How do I invite friends ?

Mycity4kids is so much better when other Mom's and Dad's (or expecting one's or even those planning) you know are here. So invite other parents from your family, your school, residential or work community to benefit from the experience of those whose judgement you trust as much as your own.

Click on the "Invite Friends" tab in the header of any page on mycity4kids, and enter the email addresses of the people you'd like to invite to join your network. On facebook, you can go to the 'mycity4kids.com' page and use the 'suggest to friends' tab on facebook to invite more friends to contribute and benefit from the site.

Absolutely not. The reviews are sorted on the basis of recency and hence the last review appears first and so on.

You cannot delete a bad review. It is critical that parents who come to the site get to know of both the good and not so good experiences that other parents have had. At the same time, if we discover vested interests (such as a competitor), offensive language or a lack of relevance, our team will remove it.

Can I write a review for my own business ?

No, you cannot write a review for your business as we would like reviews to reflect the customer's experience and not the service providers.

Can I get in touch with the customer who has provided a review ?

Yes you can - by responding publicly or privately to the person who has left the review.

How can I find out about the performance of my listing e.g. how many people have seen it, the number of reviews, etc ?

For all sponsored listings, you can view this data on a daily basis by going to your 'Account' page. For other listings, please get in touch with us at sales@mycity4kids.com and it can be provided on request.
