Chrysaalis I Maths
I-Maths is a revolutionary program which aims to foster creativity and lateral thinking abilities in young children. The program caters to children in the age group of 3.5 years to 7 years subdivided into various levels.
I-Maths is based on the learning pattern in growing children and focuses on developing and strengthening fundamental skills like observation, lateral-thinking, reasoning, objective analysis etc. These skills form the foundation for learning and understanding complex mathematical concepts.
With the strengthening of these skill sets, the understanding of maths is more on logic and reasoning than on rote methodology making maths not only interesting but also fun. Any form of learning which works towards making learning fun and enjoyable, works towards eliminating the dreaded “math phobia” rampant in today’s young learners.
In the I-Math program, we follow a tri-lateral approach to learning that fosters holistic learning by taking the child through the process of concrete or tangible form to abstract or intangible nature of the subject. In other words, taking the process from learning by doing to learning by thinking.
With the tri-lateral approach the child goes through: a. The Conventional Method (Ex: 1+1=?) b. The Reversible Method (Ex: 1+? = 2) and c. The I-Maths Method (Ex: ?+? = 2) of solving a given problem In the I-Maths Method the child is taken through the process of concept introduction and reinforcement by a. Activity based learning (Play Way Method) b. Semi Abstract learning ( 3 Dimensional to 2 Dimensional learning) and c. Abstract Learning (Book based learning).
By the end of the above mentioned learning cycle, the child is sufficiently equipped to understand and execute problems of higher complexities with ease. The most significant outcome of this form of learning is the application of learnt concepts in real time situations thereby eliminating the abstractness in math and presenting it as a practical and necessary tool.
