1. Chat Masala
For Indian food with a twist, Chat Masala is the apt choice. They have a decent vegetarian menu and most dishes have a unique Chat Masala taste. The menu covers few dishes from north & south India. It’s a children friendly place - high chairs, plastic cutlery are provided. It’s one of our most favorite restaurants and now a lot of our friends love it too :)
Recommendations – Pakoras, Chaat, Mushroom pepper masala, Veg briyani (must must must have), Rasmalai (can’t leave without having it), Bailey’s kulfi

Craving for Indo-Chinese? Our favorite is Mayura…They have a great Indian, Indo Chinese menu…It may not be a very child oriented restaurant but the food is amazing!
Recommendations – Schezwan bean curd, Veg dumpling soup

Pangat is a pure vegetarian Indian eatery that is affordable and serves some really authentic North-Indian food. They don’t have a very elaborate menu, but most of the dishes are quite appetizing. We hear they have an outlet at Vivocity, but we can only vouch for the Suntec one. May not be very kids oriented, but kids can definitely enjoy a meal which is just like home-cooked food :)
Recommendations – Samosa chaat, chapatti, parathas, palak paneer and the buttermilk (chaas) is just heavenly – the best we ever had!

4. Kailash Parbat
For people like us with strong Indian taste buds, it’s Kailash Parbat to the rescue! We often go to KP for the chaats (which to us is main course). While they have an elaborate menu of North Indian, Sindhi, Indo-Chinese cuisines, Sandwiches & Pizzas, European dishes; we can barely go beyond chaats! Pani puri, sev puri, bhel puri, chaat platter, bhaturas, masala sandwich…you get the picture! While the restaurant doesn’t particularly address kids, the menu certainly does :)
Recommendations – Pani puri, KPs Tandoori platter, Kulfi

5. The Song of India
A popular fine dining restaurant serving Indian cuisine, The Song of India presents Indian food with a designer touch. She speaks of luxury at every instance – the location, ambience, service. A special restaurant for special occasions :) (May not be interesting for kids)

The cosy & comfy indoor seating at Vansh seems so beckoning that we simply can’t say no…Of course, the interesting menu that brings Indian street food to a fine dining restaurant is a win-win…Kids too enjoy the relaxed ambience :)
Recommendations – Chaats, Biryani
7. Tandoor North Indian Restaurant – Holiday Inn
The minute you step into Tandoor, you are transported to India…The dishes are absolutely authentic and the ambience, staff, service would definitely have you reminiscing about India. While the ala carte menu is good, the set lunch/ dinner menu is exceptional…It’s like a little piece of India tucked away in Holiday Inn :)
Recommendations – Set meals
The thing about Khansama is while the food is excellent; they aren’t very consistent in service…Their specialty is truly authentic North Indian food (It is finger-licking good). We know that they have a few branches around Singapore, but we are familiar only with the Science Park one. But look at Khansama through a kid’s eyes and it is wonderland; for Khansama’s ambience replicating an Indian village with life size statues is truly commendable.
Recommendations – Most dishes are quite authentic

9. Ananda Bhavan
Of all the South Indian food chains across the island, our favorite is Ananda Bhavan. They have an elaborate menu and most of the dishes taste really good. We know they have few outlets across the city, but we prefer the one opposite Mustafa.
Recommendations – Mysore Masala dosa, Ginger tea

Step into Annalakshmi and you are immediately transported to a world of rich culture. Annalakshmi, unlike other restaurants, is a concept where you eat what you want and give what you feel. There are no fixed prices. They have a lovely buffet spread that is simple yet tasty and also an a la carte menu (only weekdays for dinner). We have been closely associated with Annalakshmi for most family events and absolutely recommend their catering and private function services.
Recommendations – Everything on the buffet :)

One of the grand ole dames of vegetarian food in Singapore, Raj is synonymous with good food at reasonable prices. The restaurant serves North & South Indian cuisines with equal quality. Raj has been a consistent favorite with us. It doesn’t really boast of a great ambience, but the food and service are great :)
Recommendations – Raj Kachori, Dosas, Baby corn masala
