Bookaroo 2015 For 12 To 14 Year Olds - Schedule, Tips And Description Of Events
It is that time of the year that parents and children look forward to. Bookaroo, Delhi is scheduled for the coming weekend. The festival is here for its 8th edition.
As in the past, this time too, they have an extremely distinguished lineup of speakers. They are all set to mesmerise you and your child with a wonderful array of sessions from storytelling to craft to doodles to performances. They have a special surprise for you this year. Beginning this year, Bookaroo will focus on children’s literature from various regions of India. This year the focus is Bangla. Hope this will be the start of something really exciting.
From Patua to Suppandi, from Satyajit Ray to Lewis Carroll, from rock faces to kitchen gardens, from stories about sleuths to those about tricksters, from stitching to collage-making this year’s Bookaroo has all this and more. Click here to see the sessions by date, location, age group and time. We've tried to draft your day for you while giving you the entire line up. All the sessions are on a first-come, first-serve basis. To read about Bookaroo for other age groups, click here.
Here are a few important points to keep in mind:
Location:
This year, they have moved to a new venue – a combination of Shankar’s Centre for Children, Children’s Book Trust and the British School in Chanakyapuri.
Parking:
Dr Jose Rizal Marg is a one-way (entry from Jesus and Mary College Marg side), drop-off zone road only. Bookaroo's parking attendants and traffic police will guide you to the parking areas allowed.
Refreshments:
There is a well laid out food court for snacks and mini meals.
Water dispensers are placed in various places.
Other Considerations:
Mark all the locations in the map given to you at the entrance. This will make it easier for you and your child to hop from one to another.
No registration is required. Although seats are limited in some workshops/activities, this is only to take into account the small space where the workshop is taking place. Try to reach 5 minutes prior to the start of the workshop to ensure your child's attendance in the same.
