Happy Holidays! If these two little words have you frantically looking for summer camps to keep the kids happy and busy then here’s a list of some of the best camps Mumbai has to offer.
Kids Club summer workshops
Date: May 2nd and beyond
Age group: Varied age groups based on activity but primarily for 7+ years
Upcoming summer workshops at Kids Club include Introduction to German, iKen Scientifica, Creative Writing through games and conversations, and the Junior RJ workshop to learn scripting, ideation and public speaking. The younger children can also enjoy the ongoing activities like Playscape, Toyscape and Aquascape (there’s a free gift for all those who participate in Aquascape). Ask about the Being Artist camp by Kamla Centre for Art that is offering children and adults courses in calligraphy, print making, art jewellery and sculpting.

Commuknitree has a wide range of workshops planned to help keep our children constructively engaged during the holidays. They have life skills based activities, art, writing, film making and science fun at multiple venues across Powai.
Not Just Another Summer Camp
Locality: Chembur, Nerul, Kharghar, Tardeo, Powai, Bandra, Lokhandwala

Age group: 2.5 years to 5 years and 6 years to 11 years
Miraaya’s Not Just Another Summer Camp is different. The folks who run the centre urge parents not to send their children if the only goal is to keep them busy. The camps are designed to thrill the participants, teach key life skills and feature only the best teachers and premium materials. Camp theme revolves around the four Cs one for each week with activities that include worksheets, activities and kits. Week 1 is Creativity that will have pasta jewellery, 2D and 3D art, canvas splash art, treasure hunt and more. Week 2 is Communication at which participants will write, speak, articulate, debate, learn from an RJ, and create / host their own show. Week 3 is Culture that includes pottery, Gondi art masks, storytelling through yoga and more. Week 4 is dedicated to Cooking and Camping where healthy food, pitching a tent, barbecue and team games will be the main highlights.
Bright Sparks’ Activity Centre

Age group: 3 years to 14 years
Robin Age’s Bright Sparks’ Activity Centre brings together workshop conductors under one roof at the 1,500 sq ft multi activity centre. As with the popular newspaper, the mission at Bright Sparks’ is to inspire young learners. From May 2nd to 6th There’s the Young Journalist Programme by Book Buddy for 9 to 13 year olds followed by camps that start on the 9th of May – Effective Writing Boot Camp by Fluency, Eureka Jr. Inventors Camp and Roboguru Sr by Science Utsav.

Studio Blocks is a multi-activity centre for all ages. Their summer camp features science, robotics, music, fitness, handwriting improvement, manners and etiquette chess, radio jockeying, mythology and art, karate, dance and more.
Chinmaya Nursery Summer Camp
Locality: Kemps Corner
Date: 2nd May to 27th June
Age group: 2.5 years to 14 years in age appropriate batches for various workshops
The Summer Camps by Chinmaya Nursery School and Kalamandir are for regular as well as IB school children as they run right through till June. From May 2nd there are nine camps you can consider for your child. ChintuMaya’s Disney Safari for the juniors features Bambi’s Forest and Mowgli’s Jungle, Simba’s Pride and Aladdin’s Desert animals, and Mickey’s Circus. For the older children the camps include I’m Captain Cook, Little Scientists, Home Décor, Art Mela, and Sing Out.
The Growing Trees
Locality: Andheri West
Date: Batches starting 2nd May
Age group: 3+ years for Parkour and 3 year to 12 years two different batches for Dance
Summer camps at The Growing Trees to look out for include the Parkour Camp and the Dance Camps that run for 10 days each. Parkour is an overall body workout that improves strength, endurance, agility, flexibility, stamina, balance and focus. Kids will be taught basic moves like jump, leaps, rolls, bounce, crawls etc. and also Parkour specific games like Surprise Vaulting, and Cops and Robbers. The Dance Camp will cover hip hop, free style, Bollywood and contemporary.
NCPA Summer Fiesta
Locality: NCPA, Nariman Point
Date: 2nd May to 12th June
Age group: 4 years to 18 years with appropriate age groups for varied workshops
The National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) believes in involving children into the performing arts towards laying the foundation for a culture of appreciation and understanding. NCPA’s Summer Fiesta children’s festival started in 2010 and since then has grown every year. It is a platform to reach out to children and offer them an exciting way to spend their vacations. This month long festival features 21 plays and 28 shops that include acting/theatre, communication skills, photography, art and craft, creative writing and magic.
Bandra YMCA summer program
Locality: Bandra and camp to Nilshi
Date: On through May
Age group: 3.5+ years. Varied age groups for different activities
YMCA has centres around the city that offer different sports training through the year. The summer program conducted by the Bandra branch features coaching in roller skating, badminton, table tennis, chess, martial arts, and basketball. For children 8 to 14 years there’s also a personality development day camp that will include pottery, rappelling, zip line, flying fox, aero modelling, dramatics, art, water park outing and more. The four day Adventure Camp to Nishi is for children 8 to 17 years in different batches through May.
Root to Shoot Summer Camp
Locality: Altamount Road
Date: May 2nd onwards
Age group: 4 years to 8 years
Eco Kids through the year conducts classes that nurture children and sensitise them to the ways of the green world. Various gardening workshops feature fun activities that give children practical knowledge to help them understand the concept of farm to table right here in the city. The summer camp features two weeks of fun filled gardening and healthy cooking.

Age group: 6 years to 16 years
Summertime @Prithvi is one of the best performance art summer festivals. They have plenty of options to choose from ranging from poetry to acting, voice to movement, pottery to juggling, writing to performing and many more. The process oriented workshops are in English and / or English and Hindi and are conducted by some of the best talent this country has to offer like Makrand Deshpande, Faezeh Jalali, and Chatura Roy to name a few. The festival also features a number of plays for children that are staged during this time.
Raell Padamsee’s ACE Academy For Creative Expression
Locality: Malad, Juhu, Bandra, Colaba and Fort
Date: On till 23rd June
Age group: 4 years to 13 years
ACE Academy speech and drama courses are ongoing through the year at varied locations. Currently the Summer Workshop, The Little Actors Club is open for registrations. The two day fun filled workshop conducted in a stress free, non competitive atmosphere is designed to lay emphasis on confidence building and personality development. The sessions are designed around free flowing thought improvisation using theatre games, mime, props, stage positions, moods etc. Every student receives a certificate of participation.
The Pomegranate Workshop
Locality: Creative Writing at Mahalaxmi and Screen-Play at Matunga
Date: Creative Writing 9th to 13th May and Screen-Play 23rd to 31st May
Age group: 9 years to 14 years in age appropriate batches.
The Pomegranate Workshop is a company known to offer interesting workshops for children in our city with a focus on developing and delivering the best in-class learning methodologies to bring about experiential learning and self expression in participants. They work with over 35 practicing professional in fields like visual art, language art, performing art, math, science and design to create modules for children that can be delivered in multiple languages. The Creative Writing workshop will be facilitated by Apeksha Harsh and Sreevidya Surendran. The Summer Carnival’s Screen-Play workshop conducted by Zahra Gabuji features film watching, story creating and learning technical aspects of film making.
Inorbit Baccha Bollywood
Locality: Malad and Vashi
Date: 2nd to 16th May
Age group: 7 years to 15 years in age appropriate batches
This year features the second season of the Inorbit Baccha Bollywood 15 day workshop series. The workshop modules include acting, direction, script writing, music, dance and film appreciation. This film making workshop gives children a chance to star in a short film and see themselves on the big screen as kids from the workshop will be selected for the film. The short films from the five venues across the country will be screened at a multiplex and on YouTube. Young People’s Theatre Programme (YPTP)
Locality: Mulund, Borivali, Bandra, and Nerul
Date: 9th to 14th May
Age group: 4 years to 16 years in age appropriate batches
YPTP offers drama based experiential learning to students at schools across various cities. Drama exercises are applied to the educational space. The Drama Bazaar offers children workshops in acting, puppetry, mask work, storytelling, movement, performance and Shakespeare.
Kidventure’s Camp Butterfly Grove
Locality: Kakolem Beach, Goa
Date: 9th to 11th May and 16th to 18th May
Age group: 9 years to 13 years
Kidventure Camp Butterfly Grove is an exciting three days, two night camp. Children will participate in nature trails to study plant life, birds, insects and aquatic life, nature photography workshops, self positivity workshops, fun games, science experiments, astronomy, and creative workshops that are fun and will all work towards building their leadership and team building skills. The camp is conducted by Kidventure founder Karen Yadav Tewari who is a nature photographer and author.
Locality: Santacruz and Matunga
Date: 3rd to 5th May at Santacruz and 9th to 11th May at Matunga
Age group: 6 years to 12 years
Eureka’s World three day summer mental and Vedic mathematics based workshop series is going to teach your child to plan a vacation and understand how math features in every aspect of holiday planning too. As the children get responsible about planning the trip they learn how to create a budget, about packing or suitcase math, speed and distance calculations, accommodation rates, car rentals and even how car number plates can be used for a fun math game. At this workshop kids will apply mathematics to real life situations, think, research, analyse and strategise. They will also be exposed to currency, culture and communication skills.
Mad Stuff with Rob Summer Workshops
Locality: Lower Parel
Date: 7th and 8th and 14th and 15th May
Age group: 5 years to 14 years
Rob, India’s most popular children’s creative icon from the M.A.D. show on Pogo, will conduct four workshops at which unique DIY activities will be simplified. Every workshop has a theme around which topics like recycling and creative thinking will also be incorporated. The themes include It’s Alive, Scary Stuff, Let’s Recycle, and Makin Magic.

Age group: 9 years to 17 years
If your child has a love for coding, access to a laptop and internet connection then the online Acadgild Summer programs are what you should consider. Your child could learn a skill for life while having fun. The courses are designed to develop computational thinking and encourage logical reasoning. The mentors are said to be veterans who understand how to deal with children. Courses use games and puzzles to engage the user. The flexibility of this program is a bonus as the virtual classroom allows the child to work at his or her own pace and place. The Junior four week boot camp offers Robotics programming as well as the option to select courses related Android, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Unity 2D and Python.
Fun Science Club
Date: 2nd to 7th May
Age group: 2nd to 6th grade students
Founded and run by Dr. Shonali Rathi, Fun Science Club through the year organises short and long duration fun science classes at Dadar. It’s a club for kids to come together and explore the world of science using games, experiments, hands on activities and discussions. Children are encouraged to question, reason, analyze, explore and solve the mysteries of life. Topics at this club are varied and interesting like spooky science for Halloween and Jurassic science. The Harry Potter Summer Workshop starts 2nd May.

Science Utsav organizes workshops, parties, themed events and holiday camps that focus on science as the hero. The sessions aim to teach kids that ‘practicality is everything’. The Summer Camp features Kiddo Scientist and Kiddo Innovator for children going to senior KG, Grade 1 and 2. The Eureka Jr and Junior Astrorangers are for children going to Grade 3, 4 and 5 and Eureka Sr and Senior Astrorangers are for children going to grade 6, 7 and 8. RoboGuru the robotics class is for hose going to 5, 6, 7, and 8.
Inme’s Summer Camps
Inme offers summer camps for children 9 to 18 years that feature adventure and exciting challenges. Rope courses, body surfing, biking, lead climbing, survival challenges and many more are camp standards. Some of the camps featured this year include Bhillar, Yercaud, Uroli, Tons, Kedarkantha Expedition, The Deep Sea, The Great American Bicycle Ride, and The Naga Tibba Ascent.
Youreka’s summer camps
Youreka aims to offer children 9 to 17 years experiential learning that emphasises on intellectual and emotional growth. Youreka has their own wilderness campuses at Sitlakhet in Uttaranchal, Tirthan, Dharmshala and Junga in Himachal, Yercaud in Tamil Nadu and Kambre in Maharashtra. Activities include rock climbing, expeditioning, outdoor survival, water craft, mountain biking, and riverside or lakeside backpacking to name a few. They operate overseas with partner organisations in UK, Spain and Singapore.
Empower Activity Camps
Kids Summer Camps at the Empower site Kolad is for children 8 to 12 years old. The adventure resort is built on a table land with a hill on one side and a lake on the other. The experiential camps are designed to ensure improved self esteem, conquering fear, bonding, creativity, experiencing nature, self awareness and social awareness. In addition to learning life skills and participating in environment based activities, the camp will feature adventure sports like flying fox, trekking, Burma bridge, commando crossing, navigation and orienteering, rock climbing, rappelling, white water rafting, raft building and rowing.
Pugmarks Eco Tours
Wilderness and adventure camps for children 10 to 14 years old is just one of the many summer camp offerings at Pugmarks. They also have international camps to Dubai, Sri Lanka and Spain, Senior and Junior Adventure camps, Wild Life and Tree Tops for Kids. The wilderness and adventure camps this year are planned to Dandeli and Pawankhind. At both places, a night safari may have your child spotting a black panther or an Indian Gaur. Dandeli camp lends itself to varied water based activities like rafting, kayaking, coracle ride, zorbing and natural Jacuzzi. At Pawankhind activities will include zip line, net walk, spider walk, commando net, Burma bridge and more.
Kshitij World through the year offers children 6 to 14 years the opportunity to be a part of exciting camps. The adventure based camps are Adventure Mania at Andheri, Riverside Adventure at Kolad and Marine Adventure Konkan. Activities range from flying fox, rock climbing, rappelling, rifle shooting, archery, net climbing, Burma bridge, obstacle course, Australian plank, camp fire, treasure hunt at the Andheri camp to rafting and more at Kolad and water sports and SCUBA diving at the Marine Adventure camp.
Kalakrruti Enterventure Holidays camps to various destinations across the country and abroad feature exciting itineraries and events. They are known to take their own chefs along on every trip to ensure that the best vegetarian meals are served. Their adventure activities include mountaineering activities and various water sports. This year in addition to various domestic and international trips they have Camp Wilder West Adventure at Kolad, Camp X-Thrill at Lavasa Hills, and Adventure Island in Karnataka.
