My son turned 8 last week and he has developed sudden interest in cricket. He is following all the IPL matches and trying to avoid all family outings. St John’s Cricket Academy

Started by two young players SujeetParbatani and Murad Jasani, Sujeet’s Cricket Academy provides coaching facilities of international standard. The founder and coach Sujeetwas a part of Kolkata Knight Ridersteam in IPL 2010- 2014 and represented Hyderabad state team in U-17,U-19 & U-22.

The academy has all modern facilities including 5 astro-turfs, 2 turfs, flood lights and bowling machine. Age: 6 years and above

The academy, run by Venkatapathi Raju, a former player for the Indian National Cricket team, gives its students acute coaching in the game, teaching them the basics of cricket. The academy's main aim is to teach children the basics of the game, so that they can adapt to any format when they grow up. The academy is open to senior players too where they can come to practice.

Daniel Cricket Academy

Daniel Kanaparthi, a level II certified coach from ECB, started this academy with the goal maintaining quality coaching standards and to train the best cricket players to represent India in various cricket tournaments. The coaches are experienced to identify talented players having passion for the sport and ensure wide range of support, encouragement and guidance to achieve the team goal.They give special emphasis on all aspects of the sport (fielding, bowling and batting) and fitness program to make the players both physically and mentally strong.

The academy organizes matches under flood lights with 20-20 format on Saturdays and Sundays for children to get them used to different match conditions. The infrastructure includes 4 turf wickets, 2 cement wickets, 2 matting wickets, bowling machine,astro-turf wickets and flood lights.

Pragathi Cricket Academy

Age: 8 years and above

This academy, established in 2004, aims to encourage new talent, and provide young cricketers the platform to show their talent. A few students from the academy have represented the state at the junior level as well as first class level. They conduct matches for the students as per age categories such as U-12, U-14, U-16 and open category. The facilities include 2 matting wickets, 2 cement wickets, flood lights, vast ground and experienced and certified coaches.

Sports Coaching Foundation

Address: Opposite Chacha Nehru Park, Masab Tank

Age: 7 years and above

At the Sports Coaching Foundation, the trainees are grouped into 3 age categories: 6-10 years, 10-12 years and 12-16 years. There are six coaches and each is assigned 20 trainees. Cricket training is conducted 5 days a week from Wednesday to Sunday. On Sunday, trainees spend 4 hours with the coaches - from 6:30am to 10:30am. The infrastructure facility includes electronic bowling machine, floodlight, synthetic astro-turf and cemented wickets.

Before enrolling your child to cricket coaching, please check his/her fitness level. Fitness is a very important aspect of their performance with physically prepared cricketers proven to perform better and consistent. The physical attributes of strength, speed and endurance enables a cricketer to bat with power over long periods of time, bowl faster and with greater accuracy, and to field athletically.
