Whether you believe in miracles or not, this story will definitely move you to tears.
In May 2015, the South California-based couple Hadley and Gentry Eddings met with a horrific car accident. They were returning home after attending a wedding when a truck crashed into their car. While they survived with minor injuries, they lost their two-year-old son Dobbs. They lost one more soul in the accident – Baby Reed, who was two weeks away from his due date.
Hadley was 38 weeks pregnant when the accident happened. She was taken to the hospital where she delivered Baby Reed through an emergency C-section procedure. Sadly, the newborn left for the heavenly abode just two days later.
The parents mourned the loss of their children and the days after that flew away in grief. They could have tried to conceive again, but could not come to the terms that having more children would be akin to betraying Dobbs and Reed. But, then Hadley realized that she didn’t want to spend the rest of her life without experiencing motherhood again. After deliberate consideration and working on their emotional issues, the couple decided to give parenthood another chance. They found their comfort and peace in faith that God has a good plan for them.

The toughest part of healing, however, was to forgive the driver who was responsible for the accident and was charged for 15 months of imprisonment. Eventually, they did pardon him. Gentry, who is a pastor, firmly believes in the power of forgiveness.
God answered their prayers when Hadley gave birth to twin boys on 10th July 2017, a few weeks over the two years when the tragedy had struck them. Gentry announced their arrival saying, “We praise Jesus for our third and fourth miracles: Isaiah Dobbs Eddings and Amos Reed Eddings. Two healthy and beautiful boys.”
They have named their angels Isaiah Dobbs Eddings and Amos Reed Eddings, their middle names honouring their deceased brothers.
Would you call the birth of twins less than a miracle? Their family friend Stacey Martin aptly describes this birth as God’s way of creating beauty from ashes. We couldn’t agree more.
Our heartiest congratulations to the new parents!
