Reading and Writing: Understanding Dysgraphia

In this video episode of MOMSPRESSO, Dr. SheljaSen, Child Psychologist and Author of All You Need Is Love: The Art Of Mindful Parenting, shares her insight on "Dysgraphia".  She stresses upon the problems faced by children with Dysgraphia and its causes and symptoms.

A person with dysgraphia may have problems including illegible handwriting, inconsistent spacing, poor spatial planning on paper, poor spelling, and difficulty composing writing as well as thinking and writing at the same time.


Dysgraphia is a learning disability that affects writing abilities. It can manifest itself as difficulties with spelling, poor handwriting and trouble putting thoughts on paper.Experts are not sure what causes it, but early treatment can help prevent or reduce problems.
