The Music School was founded in 1972 and is known for high quality classes for Carnatic music, Hindustani music affiliated to the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Maha Vidyalaya and Indian classical dance forms. They also conduct casio classes for children 6+ years and for those 8+ years there are classes in violin, mridangam, harmonium, flute and tabla. Classes for all disciplines are held twice a week at timings that suit the convenience of the students and teachers. Students are encouraged to appear for exams and competitions.

Vyas Sangeet Vidyalaya

Locality: Dadar

The main focus at the Vyas Sangeet Vidyalaya established in 1937 is Indian classical music. At this school, children 8+ years can learn harmonium, tabla, violin, sitar and flute. Highly qualified teachers conduct the classes and students are encouraged to appear for the music exams conducted by Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal. The Vidyalaya is a prime examination centre for conducting the exams.

Sadhana Nritya Sangeet Vidyalaya

Founded in 1983 by Guru Shashilata Gupta in Mulund, Sadhana Nritya Sangeet Vidyalaya is an institute of Kathak dance, Hindustani classical and instrumental music. Under the guidance of the guru, students from this school have won several awards at competitions some of which have been at the national level. Children 3+ years can be enrolled for classes in keyboards, harmonium, tabla and flute. Students are prepared for exams from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharve Mahavidyalaya.

Ajivasan earlier known as Vasant Sangeet Niketan was founded in 1932 in Srinagar by Acharya Jialal Vasant. The institute was named Suresh Wadkar’s Ajivasan Music Academy after the demise of the guru by his daughter Prem Vasant and his disciple Suresh Wadkar. Instruments that children 8+ years can learn here include sitar, guitar, tabla and keyboards / piano. Strong traditions such as Guru Shishya Parampara, scientific training in music based on Guruji’s research, and an affiliation to Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad that enables students to acquire degrees in music all go towards making this academy very popular.

Chin2 Bhosle MusicWorks Academy

Chaitanya (Chin2) Bhosle is a performer, singer, composer, kids entertainer, music teacher and founder of this Academy. Here, they work toward getting kids hooked on to the magic of music making. The introduction to music course gives kids 6+ years a hands-on experience with every instrument from tabla and harmonium to keyboard and guitar that will help them figure out where their true musical talents lie. It also includes vocal training, and fun jam sessions. You can either get a group of 6 to 8 children together at a venue of your choice or then opt for the personalised sessions with Chin2 (pre-requisite being guaranteed parking at your venue). Topics for the 12 sessions include instrument familiarization, song writing, microphone fun, and a recording session. At the 45 minute class the young learners and their parents discover and appreciate Indian classical music through rhythmic tunes, rich vocals, mini instruments and visuals.
