I have been waiting for you since so long.
You were to come about 15 days ago and you are still not here.
I am telling you I am tired of waiting for you. Don't you have any deadlines like me to come and do your work and go.
I know you give me a lot of pain when you come, I am sometimes even forced to take leave from office, stop going to gym, I cannot even go to pooja. But I am ready to give all those sacrifices for you. Please come back.
If you do not come by the end of today..then see what I will do. This is my last warning to you.
This is Neha. She is 25 years old. She is very hardworking. On most days she works for almost 18 hours a day. Ever since she was in college she wanted to be on top for which she worked hard and achieved whatever she wanted. It is not easy for one to be successful, you need to sacrifice a lot of things like something as basic as food and sleep. Neha never had proper time for food or sleep. Her work also required her to travel a lot.
Neha had been to the washroom once again. Still no sign. She was now very anxious, tired of waiting for her best friend. Yes, many a times like Neha we also keep waiting for our best friend who has a date with us every month but some times just refuses to show up. We rush to our gynaecologist or our family doctor getting worried that why our monthly periods are delayed. Some doctors may give you some tablets, some will ask you to be patient whilst some may ask you to lose some weight.
We may hate to accept it, but irregular menstruation is one of the new lifestyle diseases. Though it may not be called as a disease in technical terms but yes it is true that most women face it these days so let us analyse on some of the reasons why the modern day women face this problem so commonly:
1. Irregular Food and Sleep Cycles.
2. Excessive stress
3. Increased intake of Alcohol and Tobacco
4. Lack of physical exercise.
5. Intake of unnecessary medication. (Some girls take medication to shift period dates).
Solution to this problem:

3. Regular weekend off. Remember weekend is meant for relaxation and not stress,
4. Spend at least 10 mins in a day for yourself.
While we discuss our problems related to periods here, there are a few myths and scientific reasons related to the same. I have tried to analyse the same with my limited knowledge and research.
1. Women in periods should not enter the kitchen
Myth: Women on their periods make the kitchen impure. They should not be allowed to mingle around. If they cook, they will make the food impure.
Reality: In the good old days, there were no mixers or grinders or dish washers, their daily chores were real hard, which involved a lot of physical activity. During periods such activity would be heavy and stressful for their body. In order to all a women to rest for a few days they were restrained from cooking.
2.Women on her periods entering temples
myth: Women on her periods are impure. They pollute the temple environment if they enter the temple.
Reality: During olden days a lot of temples were situated on top of a hill or at heights, unlike today where your cars can travel till the doorsteps of the temple. Travelling to the temples would mean physical strain. Also remember there were no Whisper Ultras during those days. During the olden days people performed proper pooja and recited complete detailed prayers unlike today where everything is in shortcut. In order to avoid making any woman uncomfortable, they made this rule generally.
3.Women on her periods should be barred from Social gathering
Myth: If you come in touch with any women at a social gathering then she will make you impure. Prescence of a woman at social gathering makes the environment unpleasant. You may have to bathe again.
Reality : During the olden days to go for a social gathering one had to travel a lot. Unlike today women in olden days would cook everything on their own and therefore there was a probability that a woman on her periods may not find a room for herself to rest during such functions.
I guess the olden days practises were good in a way because they gave your body proper exercise also proper rest during the desired time. Therefore, the women in olden days never faced such issues unlike us today.
