New Year Resolutions normally fizzle out with the new year eve’s hangover.
One of the main reason being we all think BIG. It’s good to have tall targets but they somehow don’t work with heath related goals.
Incase you are completely off the track and you intend to get on the health band wagon, it’s better to take baby step instead.
NEW YEAR HEALTH RESOLUTIONS:
Don’t go from an all JUNK diet to a completely Sattvik food philosophy or from being a couch potato to “I will clock the half marathon in a month” Your body is not ready for this drastic change. BE REALISTIC.
Lets be realistic. If you are a late riser throughout your life, what is so magical about new year that you will start waking up early? Instead you can aim at waking up 45 mins prior to your regular routine and use that time for your next resolution which is the much hyped MORNING WALK. There is nothing fancy about MORNING walks. Its definitely rejuvenating, refreshing and great for health but if you don’t have time in the morning you should instead take out time in the evening and go for your run/walk.
ADHERING TO YOUR RESOLUTIONS:
Take baby steps. Wean yourself gradually.
With this the changes will stay with you for life and will become a part of your lifestyle or rather an extension of you.
And gradually you can graduate to your bigger health goals.
AIMING & Planning of these health goals might sound easy in principle but when it comes to following, one needs a lot of motivation, conviction and dedication.
If you are a person who has self made health goals and not because of a health scare, it takes a lot of perseverance to adhere to your goals.
Stick to realistic baby steps and then when you are ready to take the plunge, dive deep.
THINK PRACTICAL, LIVE SMART
