First of all, I would like to thank you for loving my son so much. Every day my 2 years old baby gets ready at 7 AM morning without any fuss just to meet you and play with you. It's truly amazing!
Sending my baby to crèche was a hard decision for me and my husband. We were scared. We felt guilty. I know millions of parents are sending their babies to daycare, but when first time we did it ourselves still feel heavy with emotion. Those first few weeks were difficult, as they are for all those parents who are sending their babies to any crèche or daycare.
Looking back to the time when I had first given my baby in your hands, my heart was literally aching that day. I saw many of the babies crying badly, trying to linger and stick around the necks of their mothers and not ready to leave them even once. Next second only the same thing happened to me when my 1 and a half year old realized that his mother was going away, leaving him among few strangers. It was actually more painful than giving birth to a baby!
However, I really appreciate your determination of comforting crying babies and being friendly with them quickly. It took some time for my baby to understand you and other teachers there in his crèche. Little morning blues, few minutes of hide and seek games and few seconds of wailing while dropping him in crèche finally ended on a happy note. The first day when I noticed him smiling while going in your arms and he waved me, I was really emotional. I found that my baby had accepted that his mother would go office every day leaving him safely with you.
Then I started to notice little things that made a large impact on our lives as working parents. My son started getting ready cheerfully in the morning. He started learning new things quickly. His vocabulary improved drastically. His way of expressing himself renovated. He started telling me that he loves Pinky Didi. He really likes his name “Gappu” that you lovingly gave him. As a mother, it is really ardent to send your baby apart for whole 8 hours. But I knowingly opted this and I am so thankful to you and my life that it finally proved a good decision.
Initially, my son was an off schedule pampered boy who used to do things of his own wish. But slowly he understood the meaning of schedule and obeying others. You were able to get my little baby on a nap schedule. Even though he was the youngest (when he joined)in your care and couldn’t really participate much at the beginning, you found ways to include him in circle time and all the activities at the crèche . It's really commendable that you are always smiling no matter how hard your day is going with those naughty kids, including mine.
Now I feel this was a good judgment to send my son to creche when he was spending most of his time watching TV and anxiously waiting for his parents to come back. And you helped me believe in the idea of sending babies to daycare for their overall development.
Six months later, my son is joyful, boisterous yet well-mannered (thanks to you!) little boy who knows so many things; letters, poems, songs, who cares for others, who is happy to share (most of the time) and has formed strong bonds with the other kids he has grown up within your care.
You embraced him. You loved him. And I couldn’t have been happier more. I often tell my friends and family that my son’s positive attributes and development are things you have imparted. Thank you for caring my baby. Your influence on him can never be measured.
