She Says... Wao!! Mumma Yum Yum. (Recepies)

For the little ones, Every Mom wishes that she would be the master chef for her baby. She always wanted her baby to eat healthy, and nutritious food. We, the Moms do not want to allow our kids to eat street foods or junk foods. I want to share some delicious recepies with other moms, which I feed my daughter. She eats them and enjoy them. I usually carry them when I took her to evening play time.

Dryfruit Laddoo:

Main Ingredients

  • Almonds
  • Cashews
  • Walnuts
  • Peanuts
  • Pine nuts (Neoze)
  • Musk Melon seeds (Magaz)
  • Saffron (Kesar)
  • Powdered Sugar
Method - It is very easy to make these Ladoos. Grind all the dry fruits mentioned above. Do not add Sugar in grinder. After grind, take out the prepared mixture in a big bowl. You can see, the oils of walnut makes the mixture little moist. Now, add Sugar in to it, according to your toddler's taste, and mix it well. Apply some desi ghee on your palm of both the hands and start making ladoos. Roll it in hands, until they become soft. You can keep them in air tight container. I prefer giving these ladoos to my daughter on alternative days as the Dryfruit are hot in impression (Taseer).

Green Veggies petty:

Main Ingredients - 

  • Spinach (Paalak)
  • Green peas
  • Grean beans
  • Coriander
  • Boiled Potato
  • Bread Crumbs
  • Gram Flour
  • Corn flour
  • Oil to fry
Method - Take thoroughly washed and boiled spinach, {This is because, we are preparing it for our beloved kids who are piece of our heart. We can not afford them to swallow the germs or sprays on spinach. So, boil is must} grean peas, grean beans and coriander in grinder. Add salt (according to taste), chaat masala to it and grind it. Now, in to the grinded preparation, mix boiled potato, gram flour, corn flour and bread crumbs. Mix it well to the dough. Now make tikki shape petties and fry it on medium flame. These green patties are delicious in taste and fabulous in looks. Since I started to give it to my daughter, it became her favourite snack.

Sooji ki Idly:

Main Ingredients - 

  • Sooji
  • Curd
  • Eno
Method - This is instant method to make Idly. Take 5 table spoon sooji in bowl. Add 3 table spoon of curd and 2 table spoon of water in to the bowl. Add salt according to the taste. Also, add 2 tea spoon of Eno in to it. Blend the whole material in bowl with handy until it creates foam and came to consistency of Idly batter. Keep it aside for 5 minutes. Till then, apply oil on idli stand. You can add finely chopped carrots, capsicum and onion in to the material to give a colourful look.

Home-Made  Wheat Noodles/Maggi:

My daughter is always hungry for maggi and noodles. We Punjabis have made seviya at home in stock for a year. So, I went for this option. It tastes awesome. And healthy for my daughter. No more fear of 'maida' intakes.

Main Ingredients - 

  • Wheat Seviya (Home made)
  • Finely chopped Lettuce, capsicum, carrot and onion for noodles
  • Soya sauce for noodles
  • Long thin cutted onion and tomato for maggi
  • Maggi Masala for maggi
Method - First, boil the seviya (like we do noodle sticks), add some salt (not allow the seviya to stick with each other)and oil (makes seviya greesy to help in softness)in boiling seviya. when they get soft and little thick in size, drain the hot water and wash with cold water.

For Noodles: Fry all the finely chopped veggies. Do not cook them well. Just put them in pan with oil and saute well, immediately put spices like salt, coriander powder, chat masala. Put boiled seviya in to it. Saute. Pour a spoon full of soya sauce. Mix well. Keep it on low flame for 2 minutes and stir continuously. Home made noodles are ready.

For Maggi: Fry onion and tomato. Add Maggi Masala to make tadka. Add boiled seviya in to cooked onion tomato tadka. Maggi is ready.

Wheat Bread Gulab jamun:

Main Ingredients - 

  • n no. Of Bread slice
  • n no. Of table spoon of Milk
  • Sugar to make Chashni.
Method - Cut down and keep aside the edges of bread slices (edges are not in use to make gulab jamuns -> Extra Recepie Tip for Bread edges, is below as Bread Poha). Torn the bread in to small pieces. Soak them in milk. Gently started preparing dough of milk and bread. It should be free from lumps and crumbs. When the soft dough is ready, keep it aside for 20 mins covered with wet kitchen towel. Till then, prepare chashni with 1 part of sugar and 1&1/2 part of water. Quantity of chashni depends on the no. Of bread pieces you took. Keep the pan of oil on gas. By the time,oil heats, Make small balls of dough after applying oil on your palms. Fry on medium flame until they get light brown color. Keep rotating balls in pan, otherwise the bottom side will give different color. After keep out fried ball, immediately put it in to boiling chashni pan. Let it be in chashni on flame for 15 minutes. It will become soft and will increase in size. Yummy this bread gulab jamun is.

Bread Poha:

Main Ingredients -

  • Edges of Bread
  • Tomato
  • Onion
Method - Prepare the finely cooked Tadka of  chopped Onions and Tomatoes with your taste of spices. Add small pieces of cutted bread edges. Low the flame otherwise the pieces will stick to the pan. Mix well. Its ready.

'Wao!! Mumma, Yum Yum' are the words she says when I serve these snacks to my daughter. 

I hope, moms will enjoy making these recepies and more will the kids while eating.
