2 Instant Breakfast Recipes for Working Moms

1. Sprouted Green gram and Coconut

This recipe is rich in nutrients as we are going to use the sprouted gram. Initially I used to prepare this recipe without sprouting because I thought it as a tedious process.

So when I discovered the art of sprouting, I don't want to skip that as the benefits are more. And you would be happy when you see it actually sprouting.

Green gram - 100 g

Fresh grated coconut - 1/4 cup

Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp

Jaggery - for taste

Soak the green gram in water one day before. If you going to prepare the breakfast for today morning, Soak it in water on the previous day morning itself. Allow it to soak for 6 -7 hours. Then drain the water completely and change the green gram into a hot case. Keep them in that case till the next morning.

And your sprouts are ready. Now take a pressure cooker, add water and the green gram. Cook for 3 whistles.

Now take the cooked gram in a bowl and add the grated coconut, cardamom powder and the jaggery. Mix it with your hand. Now your bowl of healthy green gram is ready.

2. Sweet Coconut Poha

It is a very simple recipe that you make it in a minute. But the thing, you have to soak it for 5 minutes with less water. Don't add much water as you going to strain it, the flavour has been lost.

White poha - 100 g

Jaggery - for taste 

Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp

Fresh Grated Coconut - 1/4 cup

Wash the poha two times and let it to get soaked in water for 5 minute.

Then mix it with jaggery, cardamom powder and Coconut. And it is ready to be served.

Some people don't like to add much coconut in their diet, but adding Coconut to your cooked meal doesn't disturb your diet schedule in anyway. Only cooked coconut gives you the fat content that most of us worried about. Try to add fresh coconut in the salads or already cooked meal as it is more healthy and tastes delicious.
