I clearly remember that day when I cried into the phone telling my mom that I don’t think I could handle it. My daughter, all of 2 years of age was crying endlessly holding her tummy and this was not the first time. It seemed like it had become every fortnight affair.
My mom’s response? “You will handle it because this is your child.”
While maybe not the most compassionate reply or an expected one, it has always stuck with me. The relentless crying and screaming, is definitely not what I signed up for!
But my mom’s words came back to me, and I reminded myself that I was my daughter’s only support and advocate. Just then, a friend of mine, whose family is from Poland, suggested using an ounce of Chamomile tea a few times a day to calm my baby down. I asked my pediatrician and he said it was fine, so I picked up some organic Chamomile tea, boiled it, let it cool, and then gave it to her.
I tried it three times, and each time she has gone from being a complete fuss bucket to being a sleeping, happy kiddo. Wow! It works wonders!
Kids often cry endlessly due to severe gastrointestinal problems. By giving chamomile tea to your kid, the pain easily subsides. Lukewarm chamomile tea helps in soothing severe cramps and treats common stomach ailments of kids. Intake of chamomile tea can improve the digestive system, thereby relieving stomach aches. To keep side effects at bay, parents need to ensure that chamomile tea is made from the purest form of the chamomile herb. So, it is essential to buy the herb from a trusted source. However, I would recommend to check with your doctor if chamomile tea is okay for your kid, before giving it.
I just wanted to share my experience. I wish I knew this a while ago!
