Fun tips nobody may share before your new-born arrives

As soon as you share the good news that a new tiny life is going to join you in your life, you start getting a lot of tips of Do’s and Dont’s. There would be lots of things to put on your to-do checklist before welcoming a new-born at home. Through this article I intend to share a few tips with parents to-be on how to be well prepared before the arrival of the baby.

Do whatever you want with your besties. Go out with your besties before the baby arrives. Or even better, plan some night get-togethers and enjoy in your Pyjamas, or just plan a short vacation with your friends. If you don’t want to, best is to rest at home which would the most desired thing after having baby at home.

Enjoy your peaceful and full meals. Once your baby is there, you might not get enough time to have full, warm and peaceful meals. In my case, my daughter used to poop while I was having my lunch or dinner. I literally stopped feeling disgusting while finishing my last spoons of Dal while looking at her poo if she is done or yet to.

Pregnancy Journal/ Flip book. Click loads of photos during pregnancy and try making a flipbook that may reflect how your belly size increased in a period of nine month or how you enjoyed your pregnancy journey, to cherish for lifetime.

Put your favorite music always ON. There would come a time when your house would run as per your child’s choices. Today we listen to is nursery rhymes in a loop. So, I suggest you to listen to your favorite music as much you want.

Invest in some comfortable clothes. You may think that those extra-large dresses would be useless after your delivery, but they are useful for at least one more year till you breastfeed. So, spending some on comfortable clothes and footwear is a good idea.

Try waking up every two hours in the night for at least 15-20 minutes. And, if you are taking the idea of preparing yourself very seriously, then set your alarm for every two hours and be awake for at least 15-20 minutes every time your alarm rings. Remember not to change the timing of your next alarm no matter what time you are going back to bed. Forget full night sleep altogether for another 3-4 years.

Wet Everywhere. Prepare well for wet nappies, mattress, bed sheets, baby under sheets all the time. Babies don’t have any proper interval between two pees. They do whenever, wherever they want. So, be prepared with proper cover on your mattress and a lot of nappies and under sheets for your baby in case you don’t want to opt for diapers.

Babymoon. The best thing you can gift yourself before getting too busy with your baby is to go out for your babymoon and enjoy the last trip with your husband alone. Next time onwards, you would be holding your baby in one arm and a big diaper bag with baby things in the other arm.

Anyways, no matter how much you read and try to get prepared, your baby has a lot in his kitty to put you on a parenting journey with loads of surprises.

Be prepared. Enjoy the pregnancy period. Keep good care of your health.
