Beat the Heat with These 5 Scrumptious Mocktail Recipes

With the temperatures rising high with each passing day and not less than a week left for the much awaited summer break. This is the time when lot of activities come into action. From splashing in the pool to a cool ice cream to fishing and cycling and playing in the mud and the list can just be endless. Apart from all the activities it is also time for family bonding.

While all the activities are in full action children are thirsty and usually flushed. However, selecting the right beverage could be a tough task. So apart from water here are 5 amazing mocktail recipes to pump back energy in your little one:

  1. Mango Frappe -  Mangoes are summer fruit and children love it. This is super easy to make a and is sure to give instant energy. 

Ingredients – 1 Mango (peeled and cut)

¾ cup of orange juice

¼ cup of lime juice

1 and ¼ cup of club soda

Procedure – Puree the mango, add orange juice and lime juice and blend for a minute. Add ice and club soda and pulse the mixture until well blended. Serve chilled.


2. Choco Mocco Mocktail -  Chocolate is an all time favourite but serve it with a twist by adding cool mint. This is sure pure indulgence of ice cream and chocolate.

Ingredients – 2 ounces each of chocolate and mint ice cream

1 ounce of coconut cream

2 teaspoon of chocolate syrup

Crushed ice

Procedure – Combine all the ingredients in a pitcher and stir till smooth mixture is obtained. Meanwhile, coat the rim of the glass with chocolate syrup. Pour the smooth mix in the glass and serve.


3. Watermelon Slush - Yummy yet simple to make. This drink is loaded with vitamins and antioxidants.

Ingredients – Small watermelon, cubed

2 and a half cups of almond milk (unsweetened)

Mint leaves

Procedure – Freeze the cubed watermelon overnight. Blend the frozen watermelon with almond milk to attain a smooth mix. Pour in the glass and garnish with mint leaves.


4. Sparkling Strawberry Lemonade – This drink is difficult to resist with its bright red colour and high on nutrition. The fruit is packed with vitamin C and K and good dose of folic acid along with potassium and manganese.

 

Ingredients – 1 cup fresh lemonade

1 cup ginger ale

3 strawberries (chopped)

1 strawberry for garnishing

Procedure – Mix lemonade and ginger ale in a glass with crushed ice and chopped strawberry. Garnish the drink with the strawberry. Serve chilled.


5. Faux  Champagne – This is a non-alcoholic version of the sparkling wine which is produced from grapes.

Ingredients – 1cup ginger ale

1 cup white grape juice

1 cup orange or pineapple juice

Handful of frozen grapes

Procedure – Combine ginger ale, grape juice and orange or pineapple juice. Pour in a glass and garnish with frozen grapes and a curly straw.


While summers are here to stay so cool off with these mocktails. Not only the kids but the whole family will enjoy these as there is an option from a sinful chocolate drink to the non alcoholic champagne.
