What's one of the first questions many moms will ask themselves. Should I breastfeed? Is this the best way to feed my child when they're hungry? You'd think that even having to ask that question is pretty ridiculous, especially if you're a rational person but oddly enough, there's folks out there who view breastfeeding as some sort of abomination when it is anything but!
You have folks trying to shame you with breastfeeding in public and even tossing discrimination around; remember that disgusting YouTube video at Target. What's kind of interesting is that most of the folks who are getting upset about a mom breastfeeding don't have any actual facts or info to back up their claims that it's so wrong. Sad!
Maybe if greater public awareness was made and easy to understand info was made more available or accessible and the real health benefits of breastfeeding were better understood, you wouldn't have people pointing the finger and discriminating against mothers who choose breastfeeding. I've been digging around the web lately on Bing and Google looking at resources and guides and I found this really cool educational infographic on the health benefits of breastfeeding by Bradley University's MSN-FNP program and I wanted to share it. Check it out below and let me know what you think! I'm going to try and start sharing more and more educational resources for moms out there because hey, knowledge is power and moms rock!
